Hi Lovely Students and their Fantastic Families,
I have decided to switch up how I am posting work on this site. Some families were having trouble finding the links so I thought I would do weekly blog posts (that will likely get updated during the to help us all stay organized.

Language Arts
Now that you have been stuck at home for more than 2 months, you must have a pretty good idea of what kind of house would love to have! Watch this reading of "If I build a House" by Chris Van Dusen and then draw up your own dream house. The sky's the limit, let your imagination soar! You can either do a side view or a top-down bird's eye view. After you have finished, write a descriptive paragraph describing all your dream house features.
Math
We are continuing to work on decimals and today we did a lesson on rounding, then adding and subtracting decimals.
See the video below (blue button) and then work through the practice work sheets.

Science
This week, we are starting to learn about the phases of the moon!
Below you will find a scan of the textbook (to help develop background knowledge), the NASA website (it has a great video on eclipses), worksheets to practice recognizing the different phases and photos of a how to represent the phases using Oreos!
For the Oreos, students need to use 4 oreos and can first draw out and label what the phases are, including the earth and the sun's position. From there, they can create the phases using oreos, and once they have finished, they can eat their moon phases.
